So, I finally had the time to realize the demo came out for Demigod, and I was very impressed. It runs great on my 1.76 Ghz dual core laptop, and it's tons of fun. I would already own it, but I have a coupon for Best Buy. The demo is limited, but it allows someone to really get a feel for the game. The full version promises 5vs5 combat, but 3vs3 is enough to show you how much fun a multiplayer game like this can be. The team-oriented combat really makes you feel involved in something strateg...

I am trying to figure out how tension works. It is not intuitive to me. I know tension means the stretch on a string that opposes some force. But what happens when forces pull on either side?   -20N <--------------string-------------------> 20N   Is the total tension 20N, 40N, or 80N, and why? I would think it is 0N of tension so that there's no net force on the string, but that's just ridiculus.

So, who else thought Spore was lots of hype and no game? It had builders, sure. But there was no game. Games require challenge. The only part that had any challenge whatsoever was the cell stage, and that was the shortest stage. The creature stage tactics were like the rest of the game, sterotyped and unintriguing. The social game was stupid and overly easy. A memorization puzzle or something would have made it 100x better. The fighting was not like an FPS whatsoever, contrary to the advertis...

Elemental looks a lot like an old game called Magic, which rocked. But obviously, this is much more advanced.

I have the money to buy a game, and I am trying to decide between demigod and gal-civ ultimate. I really would like to buy demigod, but I am afraid it won't run on my computer. It's a dell laptop running windows vista, 1.73Ghz and 2GB RAM. Would the game run smoothly with the lowest graphics settings?

I just finished a single player game with entrenchment. Worth the $10. The game dynamics are totally different and totally awesome. Unfortunately, the game is still addictive and long-lasting. A hit and a sweet expansion? Could Stardock be manufacturing great games consistantly?

In evolutionary studies, genetic drift refers to the inevitability, without selection, for an allele to become fixed in a population just by chance. In 1931, a scientist named Sewell Wright demonstrated that the probabilty one allele will be fixed over another is determined by that allele's initial frequency in the population. So, let's play a game. Do you agree with allowing of stem-cell research? If so, add 1. If not, subtract 1. The first number reached -20 or +20, ends the game. That idea...

The news, as of late, has been inundating the impressionable American public with inflammatory posts. That's right. The news is trolling. Recently, a shady insurance company called AIG announced that they would be giving several dozen CEOs, some of whom no longer even work for the company, million dollar bonuses. Ok. I am not entirely apprised of the situation, but I can see how a purportedly shady company might abuse bailout money.  However, soon after that, the news went after a new...

There are a lot of games out there, and lets be honest, most of them really suck. So what exactly is it, to you, that makes a game a great experience?   To me, teamwork makes a game fun. I love the feeling afterwards that I shared the experience with other people successfully.

Spring Break 2009! Time for explosive fun in the Florida sun, alchoholic daydreams, stupid promiscuity, and pointless debauchery. Or if you are a nerd like me, time for staying on campus with your girlfriend and doing pretty much nothing. For the past half-week, I have been staying up inexcusably late, just wasting time. Last night specifically, I watched the seven final episodes of Firefly , the failed space Western that later returned in the form of a kick butt movie called Serentity . I ...

Have you ever considered the idea that, in the end, the world is a fair place? Karma exists. Good things happen to good people and vice versa. Hard work results in achievement. Well, I have. And I reached a difficult conclusion: In the end, the world is much more complex than that. Why? Because the world is run by chaos. Can you think of a single sinister character in history books or fiction who was born, lived a happy, fulfilling, and satisfying life, and then died happily? No, of course no...
